Highway 6 Speed Limit Lowered
After a car wreck involving the deaths of two children, the speed limit on Highway 6 was reduced. The wreck happened in October when the driver, the children’s grandfather, turned in front of another vehicle onto Highway 6. As a car accident lawyer Orangeburg, I hope the changes result in fewer accidents. The driver of the other vehicle was drunk at the time of the wreck. Research revealed that in five years there were 96 crashes in the same section of road. Neighbors argued that the speed limit should be lowered because turning onto it was very difficult. Officials from the Department of Transportation changed the speed limit to 45mph after completing a survey which analyzed driving habits along Highway 6.
